Our Take

Burzum's latest offering, "Filosofem," is not your average Saturday afternoon pick-me-up. In fact, it's more likely to send you spiralling into a black hole of existential dread and self-reflection. But hey, who said music had to be all sunshine and rainbows, right?

From the hauntingly atmospheric opening track, "Burzum," to the brutally raw energy of "Jesu dod," this album is a rollercoaster of emotions. Varg Vikernes' signature vocals cut through the guitar riffs like a knife, creating a sense of unease that will linger with you long after the last track fades out.

One thing's for sure, "Filosofem" is not for the faint-hearted. If you're looking for a light, breezy listen, you're better off sticking with ABBA. But if you're in the mood for something a little more challenging, a little more thought-provoking, then this is the album for you.
