IRON BUTTERFLY Fillmore East 1968 (Rocktober) When I first heard about this live recording from Iron Butterfly's performance at Fillmore East in 1968, I thought, "Oh, how groovy!" But after taking a listen, I found myself asking, "Wait, did I accidentally stumble into a time machine back to the psychedelic 60s?" From the moment the band launched into their iconic track "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida," I felt like I was being transported to a haze-filled room full of tie-dye shirts and lava lamps. The swirling organ solos and hypnotic rhythms had me twirling around like a hippie at Woodstock. But don't be fooled by the nostalgia factor - Iron Butterfly's performance on this record is as relevant and vibrant as ever. The energy and raw talent of the band members shine through, creating a sonic experience that is both timeless and exhilarating. If you're a fan of classic rock and want to relive the glory days of psychedelia, then this album is definitely for you.
