Our Take
MOVEMENTS' latest album "Feel Something" has got us feeling all sorts of emotions, but mostly just confused. The California-based band blends emo and post-hardcore influences, creating a sound that's chaotic yet somehow charming.
From the opening track "Full Circle" to the hauntingly beautiful "Deadly Dull", MOVEMENTS takes listeners on a rollercoaster of emotions. The raw and introspective lyrics paired with catchy guitar riffs make for a compelling listen.
However, there are moments on this album where it feels like the band is trying a bit too hard to be deep and meaningful. The overly dramatic production and excessive vocal flourishes can be a bit much at times, leaving us scratching our heads in disbelief.
But despite the occasional missteps, MOVEMENTS still manages to deliver an album that is undeniably captivating. Tracks like "Colourblind" and "Third Degree" showcase the band's potential to make a lasting impact on the emo scene.
Overall, "Feel Something" is a valiant effort from MOVEMENTS, but it falls short of being a true masterpiece. With a bit more restraint and focus, this band could truly set themselves apart from the rest of the pack. We'll be keeping an eye on them, that's for sure.
