Our Take

Keith Jarrett, the man who's tickled more ivories than a manic pianist at a carnival, is back with his latest opus "Expectations." And boy, does this album deliver more surprises than a vegan at a BBQ. From the get-go, Jarrett takes us on a musical rollercoaster ride, with twists and turns that keep you guessing like a game of musical Cluedo. The opening track "Anticipation" builds up with a tantalising piano riff before hitting you with a saxophone solo that'll make your granny shake her knitting needles in approval. But it's not all fast-paced excitement on "Expectations." Jarrett slows it down with the hauntingly beautiful "Reflections," a track that'll have you pondering life's big questions like why do we park in a driveway but drive on a parkway? Throughout the album, Jarrett's masterful piano skills are on full display, proving once again why he's considered a living legend in the jazz world. The man can make a piano sing like a diva on steroids, hitting notes higher than a stoner on a mountaintop. So, if you're looking for an album that'll surprise, delight, and possibly make you question your very existence, look no further than Keith Jarrett's "Expectations."
