Tyred Eyes’ latest offering, “Elevatorin”, is a bizarre yet captivating journey through the depths of indie rock psychedelia. Hailing from the gritty streets of Manchester, this four-piece band manages to blend elements of shoegaze, punk, and electronica into a cacophony of sound that is both jarring and exhilarating.
The album kicks off with the gritty anthem “Broken Elevator”, setting the tone for a wild ride through distorted guitars and hypnotic synths. Lead singer Jack Smith’s haunting vocals float above the chaos, channeling the raw emotion of a man on the brink of madness.
Tracks like “Spiral Staircase” and “Ghostly Reflections” showcase the band’s versatility, veering between dreamy melodies and frenzied noise with ease. The pulsating rhythms and swirling guitars create an otherworldly atmosphere that is both unsettling and strangely beautiful.
But it’s on the epic closer, “Ascending Into Darkness”, where Tyred Eyes truly shine. The band builds to a crescendo of swirling feedback and crashing drums, leaving the listener feeling like they’ve just stumbled out of a particularly intense acid trip.
