Our Take

Ah, Tom Jones, the man with the voice that could charm the pants off even the most stoic listener. In his latest album, "Duets," he teams up with a star-studded lineup of collaborators that range from the legendary Celine Dion to the up-and-coming indie darling Haim.

From the moment Jones croons the opening notes of "It's Not Unusual" with Jessie J, you know you're in for a wild ride. The chemistry between the two is palpable, and their voices meld together like peanut butter and jelly. But things really kick into high gear when Jones duets with CeeLo Green on a sultry, soulful rendition of "Kiss." It's impossible not to get swept up in the sheer passion and energy they bring to the track.

Of course, not every duet hit the mark. His collaboration with Ed Sheeran on "Delilah" feels a bit too polished and lacks the raw energy that made the original version so iconic. And while his duet with Lady Gaga on "Sex Bomb" is undeniably fun, it ultimately feels a bit too gimmicky for its own good.
