About the artist
These Arms Are Snakes
These Arms Are Snakes emerged from the ashes of some of the most influential underground bands of the early 2000s. Comprised of former members of Botch, Kill Sadie, and Nineironspitfire, this Seattle-based quintet has been shaking up the post-hardcore scene with their frenetic, angular riffs and dynamic vocal delivery. Their debut album, "Oxeneers or the Lion Sleeps When Its Antelope Go Home," was released in 2004 to critical acclaim, showcasing the band's ability to seamlessly blend elements of punk, noise rock, and math rock into a singular, invigorating sound. Tracks like "The Shit Sisters" and "Tracing" are sure to leave listeners simultaneously hooked and disoriented. Known for their electrifying live performances, These Arms Are Snakes have built a reputation as one of the most intense and unpredictable acts on the touring circuit. Frontman Steve Snere's frenzied stage presence and the band's tight, explosive instrumentation create an energy that is impossible to resist. Their sophomore effort, "Easter," saw the band delve even deeper into their experimental tendencies, incorporating electronic elements and expansive song structures that pushed the boundaries of their genre. Tracks like "Red Line Season" and "Mescaline Eyes" demonstrate a willingness to take risks and explore new sonic territory. Despite going on an indefinite hiatus in 2009, These Arms Are Snakes' influence can still be felt in the music of countless contemporary acts. With a discography that is equal parts challenging and exhilarating, this band's legacy is sure to endure for years to come.
