Our Take

PUP's "The Dream Is Over" is like having a pint with your rowdiest mates at your local pub - loud, raw, and full of chaotic energy. This Canadian punk rock band have crafted an album that's as in-your-face as a bucket of cold water to the face. From the opening track "If This Tour Doesn't Kill You, I Will," lead singer Stefan Babcock's blistering vocals cut through the mix like a chainsaw through butter. The band's frenetic guitar work and thunderous drums create a wall of sound that hits you like a punch in the gut. Tracks like "DVP" and "Sleep In The Heat" showcase PUP's ability to seamlessly blend catchy melodies with aggressive punk rock attitude. The band's lyricism is witty and relatable, with Babcock singing about the struggles of growing up, relationships, and mental health with a refreshing honesty. "The Dream Is Over" is a high-octane thrill ride from start to finish, with each song packing a punch that leaves you wanting more. PUP have delivered an album that's as exhilarating as a rollercoaster ride, and well worth the hangover the next day. So grab a pint, turn up the volume, and let PUP's infectious energy wash over you. Cheers!
