Hold on to your helmets, folks, because Norwegian metal act Einherjer is back with a vengeance on their latest album "Dragons of the North" (2021). This album is like the soundtrack to a Viking raid on a Costco, complete with fierce riffs, powerful vocals, and more axe-swinging action than you can shake a mead horn at.
From the blistering opening track "Surtur Rising" to the epic closer "Ballad of the Swords," Einherjer do not disappoint with their blend of blackened thrash and folk metal. It's like Amon Amarth and Ensiferum had a love child, and that child is an absolute beast on the battlefield.
The production on this album is top-notch, with each instrument sounding as sharp and deadly as a Norse longsword. The guitars cut through the mix like a Viking longship through the waves, while the drums thunder like the hooves of Sleipnir himself. And frontman Frode Glesnes' vocals are as powerful and commanding as Odin himself, leading his warriors into battle with every guttural growl.
