Album Review: Radian's "Distorted Rooms" Vienna-based trio Radian have returned from their musical hibernation with their latest album "Distorted Rooms." If you're looking for an easy-listening, feel-good album, then you've come to the wrong place. This is more like a musical rollercoaster ride through a psychedelic funhouse. The album kicks off with "Waveshaper," a cacophony of electronic glitches and swirling synths that immediately sets the tone for what's to come. It's like being sucked into a vortex of sound and not quite sure if you'll ever come out the other side. Tracks like "Recurrence" and "Corner Boys" are a sonic assault on the senses, with layers of distorted guitars and pulsating basslines that will make you feel like you're trapped in a haunted house filled with malfunctioning electronic equipment. But fear not, there are moments of respite scattered throughout the album. "Sand You" offers a dreamy, ambient sound that will transport you to a parallel universe where everything is bathed in a hazy glow. Overall, "Distorted Rooms" is a challenging listen that will either leave you scratching your head in confusion or marvelling at the sheer audacity of Radian's sonic experimentation.
