Our Take
Ah, GLOK. The electronic project of the multi-talented Andy Bell from Ride. Dissident Remixed sees Bell handing over the reins to a stellar cast of producers for a fresh take on his original tracks. From the opening pulsating beats of the Bullion remix of "Pulsing" to the dreamy synths of George Fitzgerald's take on "Kolokol", this album is a sonic journey that will have you dancing, dreaming, and everything in between. Each remix brings something new to the table, whether it's the glitchy textures of Pye Corner Audio's version of "Diluted Mind", or the haunting atmospherics of Richard Fearless' reworking of "Exit Through the Skylight". The standout track has to be Timothy Clerkin's remix of "Pattern Recognition", which takes the song to a whole new level with its driving bassline and infectious energy. It's a real crowd-pleaser that will have you hitting repeat again and again. Overall, Dissident Remixed is a triumph of reimagining and reinvention. GLOK's original tracks were already top-notch, but these remixes take them to new heights. A must-listen for fans of electronic music and anyone looking for a fresh, exciting sound.
