Our Take
The latest serving from hip-hop legend RZA, under his alter ego Bobby Digital, is a mixed bag of digital delights and soggy snacks. "Digi Snacks" sees RZA exploring new sonic territories with his signature eccentricity and wit, but ultimately falls short of the high expectations set by his earlier work. The album kicks off with the bombastic "Drama", a cacophony of heavy beats and futuristic synths that sets the tone for the rest of the record. RZA's lyrics are as sharp as ever, showcasing his razor-sharp wit and unique perspective on life. But as the album progresses, it becomes clear that the production lacks the polish and finesse of his classic Wu-Tang Clan albums. Tracks like "You Can't Stop Me Now" and "Booby Trap" showcase RZA's undeniable charisma and wordplay, but ultimately feel like throwaways in the grand scheme of things. The guest appearances, from the likes of Ghostface Killah and Inspectah Deck, add some much-needed variety to the album, but fail to elevate it to the heights of his previous solo efforts.
