Labelled as the latest Scottish sensation, Stornoway's “Dig The Mountain!” is a whimsical journey through the highlands and beyond. This album is so steeped in Celtic tradition, you can practically smell the haggis cooking in the background.

From the upbeat canter of "Gumboot Soup" to the haunting ballad of "Loch Ness Monster Blues", Stornoway effortlessly captures the essence of their homeland. Lead singer, Sandy MacLeod, croons like a Highland bard, transporting listeners to a mystical world of rolling hills and kilt-clad warriors.

The band's fusion of traditional folk instruments with modern indie rock sensibilities is like a musical haggis - quirky and unexpected, yet surprisingly satisfying. Tracks like "Thistle and Clover" showcase the band's ability to seamlessly blend ancient melodies with contemporary grooves.

However, "Dig The Mountain!" is not without its missteps. The attempted EDM remix of "Braveheart Breakdown" feels out of place and disrupts the album's overall flow. And while the bagpipe solos are undeniably epic, they can sometimes border on overindulgent.
