Our Take
Ah, Dazzling Killmen, what can I say about this band except they are the absolute dogs bollocks. Formed in the early 90s, these lads from Missouri have consistently blown minds with their mind-bending blend of math rock and post-hardcore. Their latest album, "Dig out the switch," is a cacophony of chaos and brilliance that will leave you scratching your head in the best possible way. From the opening track "Poptones" to the closing epic "My Lacerations," Dazzling Killmen take you on a sonic journey that is as unpredictable as it is exhilarating. Guitarist Nick Sakes shreds like a madman, his riffs slicing through the air like a hot knife through butter. Bassist Darin Gray lays down a solid foundation with his thunderous low end, while drummer Blake Fleming is a relentless force behind the kit. And let's not forget the incomparable Tim Garrigan on vocals, whose screams and wails will make your hair stand on end. "Dazzling Killmen have truly outdone themselves with 'Dig out the switch'," I must say, I am absolutely gobsmacked by the sheer audacity and creativity on display here. This album is a testament to the power of boundary-pushing music and a must-listen for anyone who considers themselves a fan of the weird and wonderful.
