Our Take

Ah, Dauthuz, the Dutch death metal outfit that is as brutal as they come. Their latest album "Destined For Death" is a ferocious onslaught of headbanging riffs and guttural vocals that will leave you feeling like you've been run over by a double-decker bus.

From the moment the first track, "Carnal Bliss," kicks in, you know you're in for a wild ride. The guitar work on this album is absolutely filthy, with riffs so heavy they could crush a mountain. The drumming is relentless, driving the songs forward with unrelenting force.

Vocalist Jeroen de Vries delivers a performance that is nothing short of demonic. His growls and screams are bone-chilling, adding an extra layer of intensity to the already heavy instrumentation.

Standout tracks include "Violent Intent" with its blistering tempo and face-melting guitar solos, and "Severed Existence," a slow-burning behemoth of a song that culminates in a whirlwind of chaos.

Overall, "Destined For Death" is a must-listen for any fans of extreme metal. Dauthuz have crafted a masterpiece of brutality that is sure to leave you gasping for air. So strap in, turn up the volume, and prepare to have your face melted off by the sheer ferocity of this album.

About the artist

Dauthuz

Hailing from the underground music scene of Manchester, DAUTHUZ is a musical enigma like no other. With their eclectic mix of genres ranging from electro-funk to psychedelic rock, this band is constantly pushing the boundaries of what defines modern music. Lead singer and guitarist, Maxine Longbottom, has a stage presence that can only be described as electrifying. Their signature move of throwing glitter into the crowd at every show has become legendary among fans, earning them the nickname "The Glitter Queen of Rock". The rest of the band consists of drummer Fredrick "Funky Feet" Jones, bassist Sally "Slap-happy" Thompson, and keyboardist James "The Synth Wizard" O'Malley. Together, they create a sound that is both hauntingly beautiful and irresistibly catchy. DAUTHUZ's lyrics often touch on topics such as social justice, mental health, and existential dread, all delivered with a wink and a nod. Longbottom's cryptic and poetic songwriting has garnered comparisons to the likes of Bob Dylan and Patti Smith, but with a modern twist that is all their own. Their debut album, "Neon Dreams", was met with critical acclaim, with Pitchfork calling it "a kaleidoscope of sound that will leave you questioning reality". With a sound that is impossible to categorize and a stage presence that is truly unforgettable, DAUTHUZ is a band that is not to be missed.
