Our Take

Ah, ZZ TOP, the band with beards as iconic as their riffs. Their album "Deguello" is a wild ride from start to finish, like stumbling into a dusty saloon in the middle of a desert.

Opening track "I Thank You" sets the tone with its funky groove and sharp guitar licks. It's a real toe-tapper that will have you bopping along in no time. "She Loves My Automobile" is a cheeky little number that oozes charm and charisma, just like the band themselves.

The highlight of the album has to be "Cheap Sunglasses", a rock anthem that's as cool as the shades themselves. The gritty vocals and blistering guitar work make this track a real standout.

However, not every track hits the mark. "Hi Fi Mama" feels a bit like filler, lacking the energy and excitement of the rest of the album. But hey, every party has its lulls, right?

Overall, "Deguello" is a solid effort from ZZ TOP. It's a fun, rollicking ride that delivers exactly what you'd expect from the Texas trio. So kick back, grab a cold one, and let the bearded wonders serenade you with their southern rock magic. It may not be groundbreaking, but it's definitely a good time.
