Ah, Dark Nights: Death Metal Soundtrack - possibly the most ambitious crossover event in musical history since The Beatles met Elvis at that abandoned gas station in Wyoming. Various Artists come together to bring us a soundtrack that is as dark and twisted as a rollercoaster ride through Gotham City with The Joker at the wheel. From the haunting, ethereal vocals of Chelsea Wolfe on "Diana" to the heavy, aggressive beats of HEALTH's "ANTI-LIFE" featuring Chino Moreno, this album gives us a glimpse into the darkness that lurks within us all. The collaboration between Denzel Curry, Play That Boy Zay, and others on "Bad Luck" is a high-octane thrill ride that will leave you exhilarated and slightly terrified. The standout track has to be Maria Brink's hauntingly beautiful rendition of "Meet Me In The Fire" which captures the essence of the album perfectly - a fusion of beauty and brutality that is as mesmerising as it is unsettling.
