Our Take

Morgan Wallen's latest offering, "Dangerous: The Double Album," is a rollercoaster of country music clichés and catchy hooks that will have you tapping your cowboy boots in no time. With a whopping 30 tracks, Wallen clearly wanted to make sure he covered all bases on this album.

The first half of the album kicks off with the infectious "Sand in My Boots," a song that perfectly captures the carefree spirit of summer nights and good ol' country living. Wallen's vocals are strong and emotive, showcasing his ability to evoke both heartache and joy in the same breath.

However, as the album progresses, it becomes clear that Wallen may have been a bit too ambitious with the sheer number of tracks. While there are certainly some standout moments, such as the soulful ballad "Somebody's Problem" and the infectious "7 Summers," there are also plenty of forgettable filler tracks that do little to distinguish themselves.

Ultimately, "Dangerous: The Double Album" is a mixed bag. While Wallen's undeniable talent shines through on certain tracks, the sheer volume of material can be overwhelming and dilute the impact of the album as a whole. Fans of mainstream country music will no doubt find plenty to enjoy here, but those looking for something with a bit more depth may want to look elsewhere.
