Our Take
Our Take
IDLES are back with their latest album "Crawler," and it's safe to say that they are not holding back. From the very first track, you are hit with a wall of sound that is as fierce and unapologetic as ever. This is not an album for the faint-hearted, but then again, when have IDLES ever been about playing it safe?
The band's signature ferocious energy is on full display here, with frontman Joe Talbot's vocals cutting through the noise like a knife. The lyrics are as biting and poignant as ever, tackling themes of politics, society, and personal struggles with their usual raw honesty.
Musically, "Crawler" sees IDLES pushing boundaries and experimenting with different sounds and textures. From the pounding drums of "The Wheel," to the haunting guitar riffs of "Pushing The Trolley," there is a sense of urgency and immediacy to the music that is impossible to ignore.
Overall, "Crawler" is a testament to IDLES' continued evolution as a band. They may be older and wiser now, but they have lost none of the fire and passion that made them a force to be reckoned with in the first place. If you're a fan of raw, unapologetic punk rock, then this album is definitely worth a listen. It may leave you bruised and battered, but isn't that what good music is all about?

About the artist
IDLES
Ah, IDLES, the Bristol-based quintet that has been causing quite a stir in the music world. With their raw energy and unapologetic lyrics, these lads have managed to capture the hearts of critics and fans alike. Frontman Joe Talbot serves as the band's fearless leader, delivering powerful vocals with a side of cheeky banter. His stage presence is nothing short of electric, keeping audiences captivated from start to finish. The rest of the band - Mark Bowen, Lee Kiernan, Adam Devonshire, and Jon Beavis - provide the perfect backdrop for Talbot's earnest ramblings. Their tight-knit chemistry is evident in every note they play, creating a sound that is unmistakably IDLES. Their debut album, "Brutalism," catapulted them into the spotlight, earning them rave reviews and a dedicated following. Tracks like "Well Done" and "Mother" showcase their ability to mix punk sensibilities with heartfelt emotion, creating a truly unique sound. But it wasn't until their sophomore release, "Joy as an Act of Resistance," that they truly cemented their place in the music world. With songs like "Danny Nedelko" and "Danny Nedelko," they tackle important social issues with a fierce intensity that is impossible to ignore. In a sea of cookie-cutter bands, IDLES stand out as a beacon of authenticity and passion. Their music is a call to arms, urging listeners to embrace their flaws and stand up for what they believe in. So do yourself a favour and give IDLES a listen - you won't be disappointed.
