Our Take
Our Take
William Fitzsimmons has returned with Covers / Vol. 1, a collection of reimagined classics that will make you question everything you thought you knew about music. The album kicks off with a soulful rendition of Radiohead's "I Will" that will leave you feeling like you've been transported to another world.
Fitzsimmons' delicate vocals and haunting melodies breathe new life into each track, from his stripped-down take on Sufjan Stevens' "The Predatory Wasp of the Palisades" to his ethereal version of Bon Iver's "Blood Bank." His unique spin on these beloved songs is both captivating and, dare I say, revolutionary.
One standout track is his cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah," which proves that even the most iconic songs can be given a fresh twist. Fitzsimmons' emotive delivery and impeccable musicianship shine through on every note, leaving you on the edge of your seat and craving more.
Overall, Covers / Vol. 1 is a triumph for William Fitzsimmons, showcasing his incredible talent as both a musician and a storyteller. If you're looking for an album that will make you laugh, cry, and everything in between, look no further. Fitzsimmons has truly outdone himself with this one - don't miss out on experiencing it for yourself.

About the artist
William Fitzsimmons
William Fitzsimmons may not have the most glamorous background for a musician - after all, how many former mental health therapist-turned-singer-songwriters do you know? But what he lacks in rockstar persona, he more than makes up for in talent and authenticity. Hailing from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Fitzsimmons first gained attention for his intimate, acoustic folk sound and heartfelt lyrics. With his distinctive beard and signature beanie, he looks more like a lumberjack than a musician, but don't let his appearance deceive you. His music is anything but woodsy; it's raw, emotional, and deeply personal. Fitzsimmons' journey into the music industry was far from smooth sailing. After independently releasing his debut album "Until When We Are Ghosts" in 2005, he faced rejection from major record labels before ultimately finding success on his own terms. Since then, he has released several critically acclaimed albums, including "The Sparrow and the Crow" and "Gold in the Shadow". With his soothing vocals and intricate guitar work, Fitzsimmons has a knack for drawing listeners into his world of heartache and hope. His songs touch on themes of love, loss, and self-discovery, weaving together a tapestry of emotions that resonate with fans around the world. Whether he's performing solo with just his guitar and harmonica or backed by a full band, Fitzsimmons always delivers a captivating live show. His genuine and down-to-earth stage presence makes him a fan favourite, and his music speaks to the universal human experience in a way that few artists can. In a sea of generic pop stars and cookie-cutter musicians, William Fitzsimmons shines as a unique and talented voice in the music industry. Keep an eye on this bearded troubadour - he's only just getting started.
