Review:
In a collision of cosmic proportions, Canada's AIDS WOLF and Rhode Island's ATHLETIC AUTOMATON join forces on “Clash Of The Life Force Warriors,” a cacophonous battle royale of avant-garde noise and experimental chaos.
From the opening track, “The Sounds Of Modern Art,” listeners are plunged into a labyrinth of dissonant guitars, frenetic drumming, and guttural screams that defy traditional musical structures. It's as if a pack of wild wolves and a herd of malfunctioning automatons are duking it out in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
Tracks like “Cosmic Asshole” and “Psychic Crossfire” showcase the bands' ability to create a sonic assault that is simultaneously captivating and overwhelming. In the midst of the mayhem, there are moments of strange beauty and unexpected melody that lull you into a false sense of security before ripping it away with a blast of distortion.
While this album may not be for the faint of heart, fans of avant-garde noise and experimental music will find plenty to sink their teeth into. AIDS WOLF and ATHLETIC AUTOMATON have crafted a singular vision that pushes the boundaries of what is considered music, and for that, they should be applauded.
