Our Take

Ah, Chartbusters USA Vol.2, where do we even begin? This mish-mash of bops and flops is like taking a musical rollercoaster ride with no seatbelts, and boy oh boy, does it deliver.

From the infectious pop hooks of The Crystals' "Da Doo Ron Ron" to the toe-tapping grooves of The Beach Boys' "Surfin' Safari," this album is a whirlwind of 60s nostalgia that will have you dusting off your old dance moves in no time.

But let's not overlook the real gems of this collection. The Shirelles' hauntingly beautiful "Soldier Boy" is a poignant reminder of the power of love in times of war, while The Drifters' smooth harmonies on "Up on the Roof" will make you want to grab a loved one and slow dance the night away.

Of course, not every track hits the mark. The novelty number "Stranger on the Shore" by Mr. Acker Bilk is like a cheesy elevator ride to nowhere, and The Sensations' "Let Me In" feels like a forgettable filler track lost in a sea of hits.
