Our Take

Fumbling through a mishmash of genres, "Can You Ever Forgive Me" is about as coherent as a Kanye West Twitter rant. Various artists somehow manage to simultaneously enchant and confuse listeners with this chaotic collection of tracks.

The album kicks off with a schizophrenic mix of electro-pop, hip-hop, and folk, leaving you questioning whether you accidentally hit shuffle on your Spotify playlist. Just when you think you've got a grip on the direction, they throw in a random spoken word interlude that feels like a college student's attempt at being profound.

Despite the haphazard nature of the album, there are moments of brilliance scattered throughout. The haunting vocals on track three are reminiscent of Bjork at her most avant-garde, while the pulsating beats on track seven will have you dancing like you're at a warehouse rave in East London.
