Our Take

Move over Oasis, there's a new British invasion in town and they go by the name of CAIROBI. This London-based quartet has burst onto the scene with their self-titled debut album, Cairobi, and let me tell you, it's a wild ride from start to finish.

From the opening track, "Lupo," with its infectious blend of psychedelic pop and tropical rhythms, to the closing notes of "Tomorrow's World," which channels the spirit of 70s prog rock, Cairobi takes listeners on a journey through a musical kaleidoscope of sounds that is both intricate and captivating.

Lead singer Alessandro Marrosu's haunting vocals soar over the band's intricate arrangements, creating a sound that is both ethereal and powerful. Tracks like "Cell Phone" and "Saint" showcase the band's ability to seamlessly blend elements of electronic music with traditional rock and roll, creating a sound that is both fresh and familiar.

But it's not just the music that sets Cairobi apart - it's their quirky sense of humour and infectious energy that really make them stand out. Tracks like "Gristly Words" and "Ghost Ground" are laced with cheeky lyrics and offbeat melodies that will have you tapping your feet and chuckling along.

In a world of cookie-cutter pop stars and manufactured boy bands, CAIROBI is a breath of fresh air. Do yourself a favour and give Cairobi a listen - you won't be disappointed.
