Our Take

Ah, Budgie- the band name that just screams "we are definitely not a generic rock band". And lo and behold, their self-titled album Budgie (Picture Disc) is just as eccentric and out there as you would expect.

With a cover that looks like it belongs in the Louvre (if the Louvre had a section dedicated to 70s rock albums), this picture disc is a visual feast for the eyes. But let's not judge an album solely on its cover, shall we?

As soon as you drop the needle on this bad boy, you are transported to a mystical land where tight trousers and flowing hair are the norm. The opening track "Guts" kicks things off with a bang, showcasing the band's undeniable talent and energy.

Lead singer Burke Shelley's vocals are like a fine wine - they get better with age. His range is truly impressive, going from a sweet croon to a powerful roar at the drop of a hat.
