Our Take
If Pitchfork Magazine ever decided to do a retrospective on 70s rock bands, Brownsville Station would undoubtedly make the cut. Their self-titled album hits you like a punch in the face from a punk rocker wearing bell-bottoms - bold, unapologetic, and utterly thrilling. From the opening track "Question of Temperature," you know you're in for a wild ride. The heavy guitar riffs combined with Michael Lutz's soulful vocal delivery create a sound that is both familiar and refreshingly original. It's gritty, it's raw, and it's impossible to sit still while listening. Tracks like "Rockin' Robin" and "Barefootin'" showcase the band's signature blend of bluesy rock and roll with a touch of boogie-woogie.
