Our Take
In their latest offering, Bronx VI, the Los Angeles punk rockers The Bronx are back with a bang (literally, there's a lot of crashing symbols). This album is a raucous, unapologetic blast from start to finish, filled with the band's trademark energy and attitude. From the opening track "White Shadow", which kicks things off with a ferocious guitar riff and pounding drums, to the closing track "Participation Trophy", a defiant anthem that will have you throwing up the horns in solidarity, Bronx VI is a rollercoaster of a ride that never lets up. Lead singer Matt Caughthran's gravelly vocals cut through the chaos like a knife through butter, delivering passionate, heartfelt lyrics that will have you singing along at the top of your lungs. The rest of the band, including guitarists Joby J. Ford and Ken Horne, bassist Brad Magers, and drummer Joey Castillo, are in top form, creating a wall of sound that is as infectious as it is powerful. Standout tracks include the infectious "Superbloom", with its catchy chorus and infectious guitar hooks, and the anthemic "Curb Feelers", a blistering punk rock banger that will have you moshing in no time. Overall, Bronx VI is a triumphant return for The Bronx, proving once again that they are one of the most exciting and vital bands in punk rock today.
