Our Take

In their latest collaboration, tenor Ian Bostridge and baritone Simon Keenlyside team up with conductor Gianandrea Noseda and the London Symphony Orchestra to tackle Benjamin Britten's monumental War Requiem.

From the haunting opening bars of "Requiem aeternam" to the climactic "Libera me," Bostridge and Keenlyside deliver emotive performances that are both technically impeccable and deeply moving. Bostridge's ethereal tenor soars above the orchestra, while Keenlyside's rich baritone adds a sense of gravitas to the proceedings.

Noseda's interpretation of the score is both sensitive and dynamic, allowing the music to ebb and flow with a sense of urgency and poignancy. The London Symphony Orchestra, as always, is in top form, providing a lush and powerful backdrop to the soloists.

Britten's War Requiem is a challenging work, both musically and emotionally, but Bostridge, Keenlyside, Noseda, and the LSO rise to the occasion with aplomb.
