Our Take

Ah, Kind of Like Spitting, the band that always seems to be on the brink of something truly great. Unfortunately, Bridges worth burning is not quite it. The album takes us on a journey through muddy production, mumbled vocals, and half-hearted melodies that feel like they were pulled straight from a dusty old shoebox. From the first track, "Settling", it's clear that we're in for a bumpy ride. The disjointed guitars clash with the lacklustre drums, creating a cacophony that is more headache-inducing than avant-garde. But fear not, dear listener, for there are glimpses of promise hidden amongst the rubble. "Fireside" shows a glimmer of the band's potential with its catchy chorus and infectious energy. And "Bridges Burning" offers a haunting reflection on lost love, with poignant lyrics that cut through the noise. Overall, Bridges worth burning feels like a missed opportunity for Kind of Like Spitting. While they may have a cult following of die-hard fans, this album fails to make a lasting impression. Perhaps it's time for the band to reassess their sound and come back stronger than ever. Or maybe they'll just keep churning out more forgettable mediocrity. Only time will tell.
