Marilyn Manson’s latest offering, "Born Villain," is a chaotic rollercoaster of emotions that will leave you questioning your own sanity. The album opens with the ominous sounds of "Hey, Cruel World..." setting the tone for what is to come - a dark, twisted journey into the mind of Manson himself.
Tracks like "Pistol Whipped" and "Overneath the Path of Misery" showcase Manson’s ability to blend heavy, industrial beats with haunting melodies, creating a sound that is uniquely his own. The controversial rocker doesn’t hold back with his lyrics, delving deep into themes of love, death, and the darker side of humanity.
However, Manson occasionally falls into cliché territory with songs like "The Gardener" and "Slo-Mo-Tion," which feel like rehashes of his past work. While the album may not break any new ground, Manson’s signature blend of shock and awe is still present throughout.
