About the artist

Jon Lord

Ah, Jon Lord - the mastermind behind the iconic organ sound of Deep Purple. With his distinctive blend of classical influences and hard rock edge, Lord has carved out a niche for himself as one of the most unique and influential musicians in the industry. Hailing from Leicester, Lord first made a name for himself in the 1960s with the band The Artwoods before joining forces with Ritchie Blackmore to form Deep Purple. Known for his virtuosic keyboard skills and epic stage presence, Lord quickly became a fan favourite and a key ingredient in the band's success. But it wasn't just his musical talents that set Lord apart - his larger-than-life personality and cheeky sense of humour endeared him to fans and critics alike. Whether he was playing a blistering solo or cracking a joke on stage, Lord always knew how to keep everyone entertained. After leaving Deep Purple in the 1970s, Lord continued to push the boundaries of his craft, experimenting with different styles and collaborations. From classical symphonies to rock operas, Lord's versatility knew no bounds. Sadly, Lord passed away in 2012, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire musicians and fans alike. His impact on the music industry is undeniable, and his influence can still be heard in the work of countless artists today. So here's to Jon Lord - a true legend in every sense of the word. His music may have ended, but his spirit lives on in every note he ever played. Rest in peace, Jon.
