Our Take

Ah, Bloodshot Records' festive offering, "13 Days of Xmas" is a jolly ol' romp through the holiday season with a unique, indie twist. Various artists come together to deliver a quirky assortment of Christmas tunes that will have you ho-ho-ho-ing all night long.

The album kicks off with a raucous rendition of "Jingle Bell Rock" by Sarah Shook & the Disarmers, complete with twangy guitars and Shook's signature gritty vocals. It's a refreshingly rebellious take on a classic holiday staple that is sure to get your eggnog flowing.

Other standout tracks include "Santa Claus is Back in Town" by Devil in a Woodpile, a rollicking blues-infused number that will have you shimmying around the Christmas tree, and "Run Run Rudolph" by Ha Ha Tonka, a foot-stomping, rootsy tribute to everyone's favourite reindeer.
