Our Take
Billy Satellite's eponymous debut album is like a blast from the past, a time capsule filled with all the best (and worst) of 80s rock. From the moment the opening track kicks in, you're transported back to a world of big hair, leather jackets, and guitar solos that last longer than most people's attention spans.
The band's sound is a mix of classic rock and power pop, with catchy hooks and anthemic choruses that are sure to get stuck in your head for days. Lead singer Monty Byrom's vocals are a highlight, effortlessly soaring over the driving guitars and pounding drums.
But while the album is undeniably fun, it's not without its flaws. Some of the lyrics veer dangerously close to cheese territory, with cliches about love and rebellion that feel a bit tired.
