Our Take
Sugarfoot’s latest offering, “Big Sky Country,” is a smorgasbord of musical delights that will have you tapping your feet and reaching for your cowboy boots faster than you can say yee-haw. From the opening track, “Saddle Up,” the band transports you to the vast expanse of the American West with their infectious blend of twangy guitars and toe-tapping rhythms. The lead singer’s gravelly vocals add just the right amount of grit to each song, evoking images of sunsets and dusty trails. One of the standout tracks on the album has to be “Rodeo Queen,” a rollicking ode to a fearless cowgirl who knows how to hold her own in a man’s world. The catchy chorus is sure to have you singing along in no time, despite the fact that you probably have no idea what a rodeo queen actually does. While “Big Sky Country” may not break any new ground in terms of musical innovation, it’s clear that Sugarfoot knows their way around a good old-fashioned country tune. So dust off your Stetson and get ready to two-step the night away to this toe-tapping masterpiece. Yee-haw!
