Our Take

Buckle up, ghouls and gals, because The Cramps are back with their latest musical séance, "Big Beat From Badsville." From the depths of their crypt, Lux Interior and Poison Ivy conjure up a devilishly delightful blend of rockabilly, punk, and good ol' fashioned horror show theatrics.

The album kicks off with "Cramp Stomp," a bone-rattling ode to the band's signature sound. Lux's vocals ooze with attitude while Ivy's guitar licks slice through the murky underworld of rock 'n' roll. Tracks like "Bikini Girls With Machine Guns" and "All Women Are Bad" transport us to a retro-futuristic nightmare where bad girls rule the roost.

But don't be fooled by the horror show antics, there's some serious musicianship at play here. The rhythm section of Slim Chance and Harry Drumdini keep the beat pounding like a heart possessed by the spirit of rock 'n' roll.
