Our Take
Possessed's "Beyond the Gates/The Eyes of Horror" is a rambunctious rollercoaster of a ride, filled with thrashing guitars, guttural vocals, and enough energy to power a small village. The album kicks off with "The Heretic," an explosive track that sets the tone for the rest of the journey, with its lightning-fast riffs and intense drumming. As the album progresses, we are treated to more head-banging goodness, including standout tracks like "March to Die" and "Phantasm."
The band's signature blend of thrash and death metal is on full display here, with each member showcasing their technical prowess with blistering solos and relentless double-bass drumming. But what really sets Possessed apart from the rest is their undeniable sense of fun and mischief, evident in tracks like "Swing of the Axe," which features some of the most frenetic guitar work on the album.
