After listening to BERNARD ZWEERS' Symphony No. 2, I can confidently say that this album belongs in the symphonic hall of fame (if such a thing exists). The Dutch composer's second symphony is a delightful blend of classical structure and modern sensibilities, resulting in a piece that is as refreshing as a pint of Guinness on a summer's day.
From the opening bars of the first movement, it's clear that ZWEERS is a master of orchestration.
