Album Review: RPO / BEECHAM Jean Sibelius: Thomas Beecham Conducts Sibelius

In the grand tradition of British orchestral music, this album is sure to stir up some emotions – mainly confusion and a sudden urge to rewatch "The Crown" for the hundredth time. Thomas Beecham conducts Sibelius with the finesse of a seasoned conductor and the pizzazz of a reality TV star.

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra brings Sibelius' compositions to life in a way that will have you saying, "Yes, darling, pass me the caviar" even if you're just sitting on your sofa in your pyjamas. Beecham's interpretations are bold and daring – much like wearing a top hat to a pub quiz or deciding to paint your living room pink (because, why not?).
