Our Take

Ah, Meat Loaf. The man, the myth, the legend. You know you're in for a wild ride when his name is emblazoned on an album cover. And "Bat Out of Hell 3 - The Monster Is Loose" certainly lives up to the hype – for better or for worse. This album is a rollercoaster of bombastic rock anthems, soaring ballads, and everything in between. From the operatic title track to the catchy hooks of "It's All Coming Back to Me Now," Meat Loaf pulls out all the stops on this third installment in the "Bat Out of Hell" series. However, while the sheer audacity of Meat Loaf's performance is undeniably entertaining, the album does fall a bit short in terms of originality. The rock opera formula that has served him well in the past starts to feel a bit tired on tracks like "The Future Ain't What It Used to Be." But fear not, Bat Out of Hell fans – there are still plenty of standout moments to be found here. "Cry Over Me" showcases Meat Loaf at his most vulnerable, while "What About Love" brings a much-needed dose of emotion to the mix. Overall, "Bat Out of Hell 3 - The Monster Is Loose" may not be groundbreaking, but it's a damn good time. So crank up the volume, grab a glass of wine, and let yourself get lost in the madness that is Meat Loaf. You won't regret it.

About the artist

Meat Loaf

Ah, Meat Loaf. The oversized, theatrical rocker whose powerful vocals and bombastic live performances have made him a household name in the world of classic rock. Born Marvin Lee Aday in Dallas, Texas, Meat Loaf first found fame as a stage actor before breaking into the music industry in the 1970s. With his larger-than-life persona and penchant for epic, operatic ballads, Meat Loaf quickly became a cult figure in the rock scene. His 1977 album "Bat Out of Hell" remains a classic of the genre, with its iconic cover and anthemic title track. But Meat Loaf's career has been far from smooth sailing. His struggles with weight, health issues, and personal demons have often overshadowed his musical achievements. Yet despite these setbacks, Meat Loaf has continued to tour and record, proving that his passion for music is as strong as ever. Whether you love him or hate him, there's no denying that Meat Loaf is a true original in the world of rock music. With his flamboyant stage presence and powerhouse vocals, he remains a force to be reckoned with in the industry. Just don't ask him to perform on an empty stomach – after all, this is a man who takes his meat seriously.
