Our Take
Our Take
Ah, Peter Tosh. The man, the myth, the reggae legend. And what better way to experience his musical prowess than with this groovy live album from 1978?
At My Father's Place, Tosh delivers a spirited performance that will have you feeling like you've been transported to a Jamaican beach party. From the soulful melodies of "Legalize It" to the rebellious anthem of "Equal Rights," Tosh's signature blend of roots reggae and social commentary is on full display.
The green vinyl adds a touch of nostalgia to the listening experience, as if you're spinning this record at a funky 70s house party. The energy is infectious, the vibes are irie, and you'll find yourself swaying to the rhythm in no time.
Tosh's band is tight, his vocals are raw and powerful, and his message is as relevant today as it was over 40 years ago. His music is a call to action, a celebration of life, and a testament to the power of music to bring people together.
So grab your favourite herb, kick back, and let Peter Tosh take you on a musical journey that is equal parts laid-back and revolutionary. This album is a must-listen for reggae enthusiasts, vinyl collectors, and music lovers alike. Trust me, you won't regret it.

About the artist
Peter Tosh
Peter Tosh, the reggae legend known for his fiery spirit and rebellious attitude, was born in Jamaica in 1944. Alongside Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer, Tosh formed the iconic reggae band The Wailers in the 1960s, bringing their revolutionary sound to the world. Tosh's solo career took off in the 1970s, with hits like "Legalize It" and "Equal Rights" cementing his status as a pioneer of reggae music. His powerful vocals and politically-charged lyrics made him a force to be reckoned with in the music industry, inspiring generations of artists to come. But Tosh's music wasn't the only thing that set him apart - his larger-than-life personality and sharp wit made him a true icon. Known for his love of marijuana and his fierce advocacy for human rights, Tosh was never one to shy away from controversy. His music was a reflection of his beliefs, tackling issues like oppression and inequality with unapologetic honesty. Tragically, Tosh's life was cut short in 1987 when he was tragically murdered in his home in Jamaica. But his legacy lives on through his timeless music, which continues to inspire and empower listeners around the world. Peter Tosh may be gone, but his rebellious spirit and revolutionary music will never be forgotten.
