Our Take
Our Take
Ah, the Honorary Title's sophomore album, "Anything Else But The Truth." What can I say about this absolute gem of a record? Well, strap in folks because we're about to take a wild ride through the world of indie rock meets pop-punk meets...well, whatever the heck you want to call it.
From the moment the opening track blasts through your speakers, you know you're in for something special. The infectious melodies, the raw emotion in the lyrics, and the downright catchy hooks make this album an instant classic. It's like taking a time machine back to the early 2000s, but in the best possible way.
Lead singer Jarrod Gorbel's vocals are nothing short of mesmerizing, effortlessly switching between hauntingly beautiful and aggressively powerful. The band's tight musicianship is on full display throughout the record, with each track blending seamlessly into the next.
But what really sets "Anything Else But The Truth" apart is its undeniable charm. It's the kind of album that makes you want to dance around your room like a fool, sing your heart out at the top of your lungs, and just lose yourself in the music. In a world full of pretentiousness and overproduction, the Honorary Title reminds us that sometimes all you need is a good ol' rock 'n' roll record to make everything better.
So do yourself a favour and give "Anything Else But The Truth" a spin. Trust me, you won't regret it. Just be prepared to have these songs stuck in your head for days on end.

About the artist
Honorary Title
Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, The Honorary Title is the brainchild of frontman and songwriter Jarrod Gorbel. With their unique blend of indie rock and emo sensibilities, The Honorary Title burst onto the scene in 2004 with their debut album "Anything Else but the Truth". Gorbel's distinctive vocals and introspective lyrics have garnered comparisons to the likes of Death Cab for Cutie and Bright Eyes, but The Honorary Title has always had a sound all their own. Their sophomore album "Scream & Light Up the Sky" further solidified their place in the indie rock scene, showcasing Gorbel's knack for crafting catchy, introspective tunes that tug at the heartstrings. Despite critical acclaim and a dedicated fanbase, The Honorary Title went on hiatus in 2009, leaving many wondering if they would ever return. But in 2013, Gorbel announced a reunion and the band's triumphant return with the EP "Anything Else But the Truth: Ten Year Anniversary Edition". Now, as The Honorary Title gears up for a string of reunion shows, fans old and new can rejoice in the fact that their favourite emo-tinged indie rockers are back and better than ever. With Gorbel's heartfelt lyrics and the band's infectious melodies, The Honorary Title is sure to captivate audiences once again with their unique brand of introspective rock music. So grab your headphones and prepare to be transported to a world where heartache and hope collide in the most beautiful of ways, courtesy of The Honorary Title.
