Our Take
Ah, KISS - Alive III, the latest installment in the never-ending saga of the rock superheroes living their best life on stage. They strut, they stomp, they rock your socks off - but do they still have that old magic? Opening with the thunderous "Creatures of the Night," it's clear that KISS are here to party like it's 1979 all over again. Gene Simmons' demonic growls and Paul Stanley's siren-like wails still pack a punch, while Ace Frehley's guitar solos soar through the air like fireworks on the 4th of July. But it's not all smooth sailing on this live odyssey. Tracks like "Shout It Out Loud" and "I Was Made for Lovin' You" feel a bit recycled, lacking the spark that made them classics in the first place. And don't even get me started on the unnecessary drum solo - we get it, Eric Singer, you can bash those skins like nobody's business. Yet, when KISS hit their stride on songs like "Lick It Up" and "Rock and Roll All Nite," it's like they're in their prime all over again. The crowd goes wild, the energy is electric, and you can't help but raise your devil horns in salute to these rock legends. In conclusion, KISS - Alive III may not reach the heights of their earlier live albums, but it's still a rollicking good time for fans old and new. Let's just hope they don't hang up their platform boots anytime soon.
