Our Take

Album Review: CORELEONI - Alive

Switzerland may be known for its chocolate and cuckoo clocks, but now they can add rock legends to the list. CORELEONI, the brainchild of Gotthard's Leo Leoni, is back with their latest live album, "Alive."

From the moment the first power chords hit your ears, you can't help but be drawn in by the infectious energy and tight musicianship of this band. Leoni's guitar work is nothing short of masterful, weaving in and out of solos with precision and flair. And let's not forget about vocalist Ronnie Romero, whose powerhouse vocals could knock the Swiss Alps off their feet.

The album kicks off with the anthemic "Walk on Water," setting the tone for the rest of the setlist. Each track is a powerhouse in its own right, from the pounding drums of "Don't Get Me Wrong" to the groovy bassline of "Angel."

But it's not all sunshine and rainbows for CORELEONI. Some tracks feel a bit overplayed and could do with a fresh coat of paint. And while the band's energy is infectious, at times it feels like they're trying a bit too hard to recapture past glories.

Overall, "Alive" is a solid offering from CORELEONI, showcasing their undeniable talent and knack for rocking out. So grab yourself a bar of Swiss chocolate, kick back, and enjoy the ride with this album. Just don't forget to set your cuckoo clock to rock o'clock!
