Our Take

HELICOPTER OF THE HOLY GHOST's latest album, Aftersin, is a dizzying trip through the corridors of avant-garde rock. This London-based band has always straddled the line between chaos and ecstasy, but on Aftersin, they fully embrace the madness.

From the opening track, "Ectoplasmic Rapture," to the closing number, "Rituals of the Outer Void," HELICOPTER OF THE HOLY GHOST take us on a sonic journey that is equal parts exhilarating and disorienting. The band's signature blend of psych-rock, post-punk, and noise pop is on full display here, creating a sound that is uniquely their own.

Lead singer Astral Aura's vocals soar and snarl in equal measure, weaving tales of cosmic horror and existential dread. The guitars buzz and squeal, the drums thunder and crash, and the synthesizers whirr and hum, creating a cacophony of sound that is thrilling in its unpredictability.
