Our Take

NEW AGE STEPPERS, hailing straight outta the avant-garde streets of London, have unleashed their latest sonic masterpiece upon the world: "Action Battlefield." And let me tell you, it's like a musical rollercoaster ride that you never want to end.

From the moment you press play, you're greeted with a cacophony of groovy beats, dubby basslines, and experimental sounds that'll make you question everything you thought you knew about music. It's like they've taken every genre under the sun and thrown it into a blender, resulting in a deliciously eclectic smoothie of sonic goodness.

Tracks like "Conquer" and "Mandarin" will have you nodding your head in approval, while "Got to Get Away" and "5 Dog Dub" will transport you to a psychedelic wonderland where anything is possible. The album's production is top-notch, with each instrument and sound expertly layered to create a rich tapestry of sound that'll have you coming back for more.

Overall, "Action Battlefield" is a genre-defying journey that'll leave you both bewildered and amused in the best possible way. NEW AGE STEPPERS have once again proven why they're at the top of their game, and this album is a testament to their creative genius. So do yourself a favor and give it a listen – your ears will thank you.

About the artist

New Age Steppers

New Age Steppers, the eclectic dub collective formed in the late 1970s, were ahead of their time, blending reggae rhythms with post-punk experimentation. Led by the visionary producer Adrian Sherwood and featuring an ever-changing lineup of musicians from the UK underground scene, the Steppers created a sound that was both danceable and thought-provoking. Their 1980 self-titled debut album remains a cult classic, with tracks like "Fade Away" and "My Whole World" showcasing their unique fusion of dub, punk, and avant-garde influences. The band's distinctive sound drew comparisons to contemporaries like The Clash and PiL, but the Steppers always had a knack for pushing boundaries and defying expectations. Despite their influential status, the New Age Steppers never quite achieved mainstream success, which only adds to their mystique. But for those in the know, their music remains essential listening – a sonic journey that blends genres and defies categorization. Whether you're a seasoned dub aficionado or a casual listener looking to expand your musical horizons, the New Age Steppers have something to offer. So why not take a trip back in time and discover the sound of a band that was truly ahead of their time? Trust us, you won't regret it.
