Our Take

The Last Resort's latest offering, "A Way of Life," is a love letter to the unapologetically nostalgic era of punk rock. From the opening chords of "Oi! Oi! Oi!" to the anthemic chants of "Skinhead girl," this album takes you on a raucous journey through the gritty streets of 1970s England. The band's signature blend of aggressive guitar riffs and boisterous vocals will have you pogoing in your Doc Martens from start to finish. Tracks like "East End Barmy Army" and "Rebel Songs" evoke the rebellious spirit of youth culture, while "Working Class Kids" pays homage to the blue-collar heroes of the working-class scene. But don't be fooled by the rough and tumble exterior of The Last Resort. Beneath the tattoos and braces lies a group of musicians with impeccable songwriting chops. "Violence in Our Minds" showcases their ability to craft catchy hooks and infectious melodies, while "Rose of England" proves they're not afraid to wear their hearts on their sleeves. In a musical landscape overrun with pretentious hipsters and overproduced pop stars, The Last Resort is a breath of fresh air. "A Way of Life" is a reminder that sometimes all you need is a couple of power chords and a pint of beer to make great music. So grab your mates, raise a toast to the working class, and let this album be the soundtrack to your next night of mayhem. Cheers, lads.
