As we trudge through the melancholic mire of winter, Fleet Foxes have gifted us with their latest offering, "A Very Lonely Solstice." Like a warm hug from a distant friend, this album encapsulates the solitude and introspection that comes with the darkest season.
Opening track "Winter's Lament" sets the tone perfectly, with haunting harmonies and delicate instrumentation that transport you to a snow-covered forest at twilight. This is quickly followed by "Icy Tears," a poignant ballad that perfectly captures the bittersweet beauty of the winter months.
