Our Take

SUEDE's "A New Morning" (Deluxe Edition) is like a cup of lukewarm tea on a rainy British afternoon - comforting, but lacks the boldness to make a lasting impression. Frontman Brett Anderson's vocals float delicately over lush instrumentals that harken back to the band's Britpop roots, but there's a sense of fatigue that hangs in the air.

Songs like "Positivity" and "Obsessions" showcase the band's signature blend of glam and grunge, but they fall short of capturing the infectious energy of their earlier hits. The bonus tracks offer a glimpse into the band's creative process, but ultimately feel like B-sides that didn't quite make the cut for the original release.
