Our Take
Ah, Snow Patrol, the band that made us all want to run through the snow with our arms wide open. Their latest album, 'A Hundred Million Suns', is like a warm blanket on a cold winter's night. From the opening track, "If There's a Rocket Tie Me to It", to the melancholic "The Golden Floor", Snow Patrol takes us on a journey through love, loss, and redemption. Gary Lightbody's haunting vocals tug at our heartstrings, while the band's infectious melodies have us tapping our feet and nodding our heads in appreciation. The standout track for me has to be "Crack the Shutters", with its anthemic chorus and driving rhythm. It's the kind of song that makes you want to roll down the car windows and sing at the top of your lungs (much to the dismay of your passengers). But it's not all sunshine and rainbows on this album. Tracks like "The Planets Bend Between Us" and "Set Down Your Glass" delve into darker themes, reminding us that life isn't always a bed of roses. Overall, 'A Hundred Million Suns' is a solid addition to Snow Patrol's discography. It may not reinvent the wheel, but it's a comforting reminder of why we fell in love with the band in the first place.
