Our Take
Our Take
Jeff Beck and Johnny Depp. The ultimate odd couple? Well, maybe not, but they sure do know how to make some killer music together. Their latest album, aptly titled '18', is a wild ride from start to finish.
Beck's legendary guitar skills are on full display here, shredding and wailing like only he can. And who knew Johnny Depp could hold his own on vocals? He's surprisingly not terrible! Together, they create a sound that is equal parts bluesy rock and experimental funk.
The standout track has to be 'Electric Dreams', a blistering jam that showcases Beck's insane guitar prowess and Depp's surprisingly soulful voice. It's like if Aerosmith and Prince had a love child. Other highlights include 'Midnight Sun', a hauntingly beautiful ballad, and 'Funky Town', a funky, well, town of a track that will have you tapping your toes and nodding your head.
Overall, '18' is a fun, fresh take on classic rock. Beck and Depp may seem like an odd pairing, but somehow it works. It's like having a gourmet meal at a fast food joint - unexpected, but oh so satisfying. So, grab a copy of '18', pop it in your CD player (or stream it, because who even uses CDs anymore?), and let Beck and Depp take you on a musical journey you won't soon forget. Cheers!
